Before Your Spray Tan
Exfoliate and shave 48 hours before your appointment. Use a plain razor with no moisturizing strips. Paint your nails beforehand if desired. Do not moisturize or apply skin oils within 24 hours of your spray - this creates a barrier that blocks your tan. Remove all makeup, deodorant, lotion, and perfume before your session.
After Your Spray Tan
Do not get wet or sweat for at least 6-8 hours. Want a deeper tan? Wait longer before your first shower. The solution continues developing for up to 24 hours. Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing to let your skin breathe and dry. Avoid silk. Pat dry with a towel - never rub. Avoid bar soaps (especially Dove), exfoliating products, hot tubs, pools, bug spray, sunscreen, and harsh chemicals. These will lighten, blotch, or fade your tan.
